Your opinion

1.        Are the transport emissions reductions targets, policies and proposals (set out in Prosperity for All: A Low Carbon Wales) achievable and sufficiently ambitious?

1.1   Please outline your reasons for your answer to question 1

The targets follow set targets in The Carbon Plan and will lead to decarbonisation by 2050. It is good to see Wales leading the way on decarbonised heating.

2.        Is the Welsh Government’s vision for the decarbonisation of transport sufficiently innovative, particularly in terms of advocating new technologies?

2.1   Please outline your reasons for your answer to question 2

3.        What action is required, and by whom, to achieve the targets, policies and objectives?

To support the transition to Electric Vehicles, Western Power Distribution have published an EV Strategy which includes details of the actions we are taking, it was written with local authority engagement and includes details on practical steps that we expect to take. They alter depending on where EVs charge, at homes, StreetSide or at car park and other hub locations.

Details are at

Guidance for local authorities is included at that website.

4.        How should the new Wales Transport Strategy reflect the actions needed to decarbonise transport?

It should include the actions needed for electricity networks, road networks, charging provision and social economic factors..
